Micah Usher is a photographer based in Asheville, NC. He moved to Asheville in fall of 2021 from St. Louis, MO and has also called Washington DC and Portland, Oregon home. His work has been published in The New York Times and The Guardian (online), as well as publications including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Riverfront Times, St. Louis Magazine, Go! Magazine, Feast Magazine and Ladue News. His work has been used to promote neighborhoods and business districts including The Delmar Loop and Soulard Historic District in St. Louis. Businesses who have used his photography include The St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri Humanities Councils, the Missouri Athletic Club, Armbar Nation, The Moonrise Hotel, Fitz's Rootbeer, Molly's in Soulard, McArthur's Bakery, the Melting Pot, Hodak's, The Big Muddy Blues Festival, Grub & Groove and Loufest. In Asheville his work is primarily gallery based but has been used for the WNC Bridge Foundation, Sitework Studios, and for photos representing Trackside studios in the Laurel and Arts & Culture. He is a River Arts District artist and was recently featured in a Spectrum News 1 story about his work and the recovery from Helene. When not finding new projects or working like it's going out of style, he can be found swimming in rivers or hiking in mountains and capturing 'moments in time' for his fine art photography.
